MJ is very loving and thoughtful. He gets me, and I know he always supports me and has my back. MJ is also a man, so sometimes the sensitivity of things gets removed from his words, but his intentions are always in the right place. I was telling him about some of the Slam Poetry I was writing, and he said he would love to read/hear all the “Deep Poetry Feeling Shit” I write/want to read to him. He was busy working on something while we were talking, so I didn’t really take offense to what he said. He realized what he said sounded kind of bad. He said- “I didn’t mean to call it that in a bad way. I know you are good at everything you do, and you are a deeply emotional and passionate person. I’m sure whatever you write is going to be great.
Free Form Poetry, also known as Slam Poetry, also known as “Deep Poetry Feeling Shit”, doesn’t follow the traditional poetry structure. It doesn’t have to rhyme, or it can. It doesn’t have to flow smoothly, or it can. There are really no exact rules you have to follow. The one constant is that it is based on deep feelings and experiences.
