Malia: Are you side profiling me Michael David Johnson?

MJ: Yes. I love you Malia. I watched you all around the house yesterday and today, while you were playing with the kids, while you were on the phone, while you were cooking, while you were greeting our family and friends that are staying with us. I always love you and realize how lucky I am that you said yes when I asked you to marry me, but yesterday and today I have felt extra lucky for some reason.

Malia: How sweet baby. I feel like that to. We have been through a lot, so now that we are on the other side it, the good side (hopefully), it feels pretty amazing.

MJ: Do you remember Christmas 2015?

Malia: I do baby. You, me, and your roommate at the hospital watched Christmas movies. You were learning how to talk again, and you just started being able to move your arms and legs.

MJ: You mean so much to me. I can’t put into words what you mean to me, and what you have meant/mean to my life.

Malia: You are all Christmas sappy. I love it! I know how your mind works. You feel overwhelmed because our family and friends are here with us at Christmas, and you are feeling the love. You have right now this Christmas, all that you didn’t have Christmas 2015.

MJ: Not exactly. I’m sure all the family and friends love has something to do with my sappiness, but most of it has to do with you. It hit me again and again yesterday and today how much you mean to me, how much I love you, how amazing of a mom and wife you are, how you are my best friend, how smart you are, how kind and compassionate you are, how just out of this world incredible you are. You are my angel on earth. I genuinely believe that.

Malia: I will tell you a secret. I spoil you rotten on purpose, because I love you more than anything, I want you to be happy, and I don’t want you to ever leave me.

MJ: I do believe that you try to make me happy, but I also believe that you are wonderful and amazing combined, even when you are not trying to be.

Malia: Promise me something

MJ: What would you like me to promise you sweetheart?

Malia: Promise me that you will always love.

MJ: I promise

Malia: Say it all the way out Johnson!

MJ: I promise I will always love you, and I will be happy to promise that I will always love you in any format you like, anytime you want.

Malia: Good. Are we doing early night before Christmas gifts for the kids?

MJ: On your color coordinated chart it says, “Kids get to open one present on Christmas Eve after dinner.”

Malia: Is that good with you?

MJ: No. I don’t want our kids to get to open Christmas Eve presents in front of the other kids. Not all the parents have many presents for their kids to open. It doesn’t feel right to me.

Malia: Do you know me at all?

MJ: I’d like to think I do.

Malia: We bought each kid a Christmas Eve gift. Every child will have a gift to open.

MJ: I should have figured that. Never bet against your organizational skills. “There’s a plan in place Johnson. All you have to do is follow it to have a fun and wonderful Christmas.”

Malia: Uh huh! You can count on me baby. I will never make you look bad.

MJ: I am choosing to trust you and your perfectly planned color coordinated chart.

Malia: Smart man! Dinner is at 6. Bring everyone back to the house by then. K?

MJ: Ok. I love you

Malia: I love you to
