Malia: This is why I love my husband. Principal over profits, which will probably lead to more profits, because of his principles. That was a tongue twister, but read this. It will make sense.
Note: All of MJ’s calls are recorded due to the legal craziness of his life. This is a call transcription from earlier today.
“Is this “MJ The Terrible”?”
MJ: Uhm….maybe. Who is this?
“I’m the head of marketing for Microsoft Corporation. We’re looking for some new out of the box marketing strategies, and everyone we’ve asked, said you’re as out of the box as the come.”
MJ: Uhm……ok….
“Would you like to come up to Redmond to visit our campus and tell us a little bit more about how you do what you do? Can you come up December 14th-18th?”
MJ: Nope.
“We would compensate you handsomely for your time.”
MJ: It’s my son’s birthday that weekend.
“You can meet Bill.”
MJ: It’s my son’s birthday that weekend.
“Are you turning our offer down?”
MJ: No.
“It sounds like you are.”
MJ: I’m only turning down your offer during that time period.
“So you are turning down our offer?”
MJ: I’m only turning it down during that time period.
“That’s the only time period we are offering. This is a big opportunity for you.”
MJ: I agree. This is a big deal, but I wouldn’t miss my son’s birthday if Bill Gates himself had called.
“No one has turned me down before.”
MJ: I would have said yes at just about any other time.
“Are you playing hard to get?”
MJ: Nope. Just being a good dad.
“You haven’t heard our full offer yet.”
MJ: With all due respect, I don’t care what your offer is.
“You are crazy.”
MJ: So I’ve been told. Unless somehow you can make my son’s birthday more special than it currently is going to be, I will say no, no matter what you say, and it’s not because I’m not flattered.
“Let me call you back.” (Click)
