Veterans, thank you for your service and sacrifice, defending this great nation.

Thank you to all of the families that have a family member/members, that have served and sacrificed as well. It’s not easy having a family member/members, who are away for long periods of time, who are possibly in harm’s way, and that aren’t able to be home with you, because they are keeping us all safe.

Freedom isn’t free. It must be protected and preserved, and we have the unbelievably brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces to thank for it.

We are the land of the free, because of the brave. If you know a veteran/veterans, please take the time to thank them for their service and sacrifice today. They will appreciate it.

Veterans Day Facts:

Veterans Day originated as Armistice Day, on November 11th, 1919, the one-year anniversary of the ending of World War I.

On November 11th, 1938, Veterans Day became a national holiday.

Veterans Day, celebrated on November 11th, is both a state and federal holiday in the United States.

According to recent statistics from the Department of Defense-

Approximately 16,500,000 living veterans have served during times of war.

Approximately 6,000,000 living veterans have served during times of peace.

3 states have more than 1,000,000 veterans that have served in the military, and are still alive. (California, Florida and Texas)

There are approximately 24,000,000 veterans living today.

The difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day-

Memorial Day is a national holiday that honors the brave men and women of the U.S. Military, both alive and that have passed, that have served and sacrificed in defense of the nation, during war and peace times, but is more geared towards thanking/honor those who have fallen.
