Thank you for your e-mail asking me how to become successful in business. One of the best parts about being Governor is hearing from the next generation of our country’s leaders.
Whether you dream of being an actor, a doctor or the Governor of California, education is the best way to get there. I encourage you to continue to work hard in school because all your work now will help you fulfill all of your ambitions later. By setting goals for yourself and remaining dedicated to them, you can accomplish anything. When I came to America, I faced many challenges. My dream was to become a successful bodybuilder and actor, but people told me that I would not succeed because I have a strong accent and a name that no one could pronounce. But I never gave up – no matter how difficult the circumstances. If you stay committed to your goals, you too can achieve your dreams.
As Americans, we are all architects of change with the potential to make a positive difference in the lives of future generations. If you think you can do something, you can – as long as you’re willing to put in the effort. That is especially true for you as students because you are the leaders of tomorrow. Keep studying hard, and never give up on your dreams.
