The September 11th, 2001, attacks against the United States (America), commonly referred to as 9-11, was a series of 4 coordinated terrorist attacks carried out against the United States on September 11th, 2001. On the morning of 9-11-2001 (September 11th, 2001), 19 terrorists hijacked 4 commercial airplanes and crashed them into 4 separate targets. The hijackers crashed 2 planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, 1 plane into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and 1 plane was crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, never making it to its intended target, as it was brought down by passengers on the plane who interrupted the terrorist’s plot. The 9-11-2001 (September 11th, 2001) terrorist attacks killed 2,977 people, making it the deadliest terrorist attack in American history. In response to the September 11th terrorist attacks, the United States waged a global war on terror in an attempt to hold those responsible for the attacks accountable.
Today, September 11th, 2024, marks the 23rd anniversary of the attacks of September 11th, 2001, on the World Trade Center in New York City, New York, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. God bless all those who lost their lives that day, and their families.
